When you want to lose weight or even maintain your current weight there is plenty of help out there. You can goggle, go to the bookstore, pay a lot of money, or ask you friends how to lose weight and keep it off. It can be mind boggling and sometimes with disappointing results.
I have many tricks I use to maintain my weight and this one that am about to share with you was learned from my grandfather. He was a fit, handsome, Italian man who worked in the hospital laboratories in bacteriology. We were talking about diets and healthy eating one day. He said, “Tamara there is only one why to keep weigh from creeping up around your waist line when you eat a meal. Leave the table 80% full.” He told me to never eat until I could not move.
I have followed the 80% full rule all my life and leave the table 20% hungry and never have had a weight problem. It is so easy to follow and does not require anything fancy to follow. Does it work? YES! It takes discipline, but not the same discipline as following a diet for the rest of your life.
I have taught my children to live by this too to stay healthy and keep fit for a healthy lifestyle. This secret allows you to indulge in your favorite sweets or snacks and not necessarily eat all of it. But enough to hold you over. Snacking can be dangerous when trying to lose weight so picking those healthy fruits and vegetables is key.
